Personal Gambit Headcanons

Due to his powers, Gambit finds it very hard to sit still for long periods of time - thankfully small movements can calm this need, like finger-tapping. It's another reason why he practises his card-tricks in his downtime

It makes him an active sleeper, often rolling over and shifting about the bed when asleep, alternately curling against and moving away from any people he is sharing the bed with.

On the rare occasions when Gambit is caught napping, his body twitches rapidly during REM sleep, much like an animal.

Gambit will always pet stray cats, and they tend to be fairly amenable to his presence, either unbothered or rubbing around his legs. Despite his best efforts, he's not managed to convince the others to adopt one

He doesn't mind dogs, but some unpleasant run-ins with some when he was younger has made him wary of them, especially guard dog breeds.

He won't go out of his way to read himself, but it's not unusual for Gambit to read books from over peoples' shoulders out of curiosity. He'll get stand-offish if caught or teased about it

In a similar vein, Gambit is a very good listener and is content to listen to someone rattle off about something they're passionate about, or just in general. He'll sometimes bring things he's learnt this way up in conversation

He's absolutely an eavesdropper because of this, yet Gambit tends to keep what he learns to himself.

Well, Gambit might tell you. If you can give him some gossip in return (or beat him in a card game).

Gambit's occasional tendency to announce himself is mainly because he's suffered far too many startled reactions for turning up without people noticing he's there.

He also causes consternation for just disappearing from groups without warning (Scott's chewed him out for this several times, which only seems to make him do it all the more)

Has absolutely spooked people deliberately by standing in the dark so only his red eyes can be seen.

He tries not to cheat at card games, but he knows all the tricks and can switch very quickly if he doesn't want to lose.

Used to smoke, quit when he became an X-Man. Although it's been quite a while now, he'll still chew something to prevent the craving when he's anxious or stressed.

Gambit keeps a lot of things in his trenchcoat, and tends to have any odd end that you need like a pencil tucked away, as well as lockpicks and other sundries.

Can pole-dance, and as a result tends to hang from things at extremely weird angles. Proud of his prowess and doesn't take much convincing to get him to show off. Has absolutely jumpscared someone by saying hi whilst hanging upside down from the ceiling by his legs.

This man cannot sit normally on a chair even if he tries.

He'll deny it, but it tends to be Gambit who'll initially take extra care of newer members of the mansion/school, keeping an eye out for them. He steps back once they find their feet, with exceptions (like Jubilee).

Decided to annoy Cyclops one time by switching into Cajun French and talking shit. Learnt extremely quickly that the local telepaths will still know the jist of what you're saying, though.

Don't try to annoy him by speaking deliberately bad French at him; he will just respond in kind and won't switch back to English until you yield.

Once was thrown like a javelin by Rogue. Whilst effective, he'd would prefer not to repeat the experience - "Gambit gonna leave dat sorta thing to Wolverine."

Gambit's bisexual and Marvel will have to tear that fact from my cold, dead hands

Soap isn't sure when his assumptions started, nor is he sure how it got to Gaz and Price himself. 

Maybe it was when he started to notice that Ghost left base whenever he could. (How come ye never leave base? It's a hassle havin' to go back and forth for nothin', Johnny.) Maybe it was the smudged color of red and pink on his balaclava, the lingering perfume on his hoodie, or his new wallet taking the place of one that was once worn out.

"Wha's yer favorite perfume, LT?" "My enemies' sweat and tears."

(It's well-known that despite the fact that Ghost does consider the 141 to be his family, he keeps his personal life very private and away from them. They respect that, in turn, but let's face it, Soap is nosy.)

Really, it was an accident. Soap swears it was!

He just happened to be passing by his lieutenant in the bar where the team had all gone to celebrate a wreck of a mission that they've managed to successfully finish. Truly, it was an accident when his eyes caught a glimpse of Ghost's new wallet, and he really, very much so did not mean to watch a little too long – long enough for it to open and reveal a hefty amount of cash and a small square of colors, barely noticeable. 

Soap's feet move before he could quietly search for more.

"Got a new wallet, aye?" He slides beside the taller man smoothly, just as the Brit had grunted out another order of Bourbon. Ghost hums in acknowledgement.

"Y'got a crush on me or somethin', Johnny?"

Soap chuckles even if the other does not. "A just happened tae see it. Fancy little thing."

It doesn't take long before Ghost disappears into the night, but the Scot swears his pace was a bit faster than usual when he left the awfully-smelling bar, and Gaz would be lying if he said he didn't see the little picture of a pretty bird tucked away in his scarily huge lieutenant's wallet.

It's not that Soap often makes bold assumptions about people and their personal lives, not when they're out of reach from him, but can you really blame him for thinking that the words 'Ghost' and 'girlfriend' do not sound right in the same sentence? Would it be considered an assumption this time if he'd seen the photo himself? Surely, his superior isn't some perverted freak who keeps an image of a breathtaking woman he randomly found in his private items. Uh, he hopes not, at least.

"Bullshit!" is what a drunken Soap yells when the Brit nonchalantly discloses to the team, without hesitation, that he is simply not interested in dating. He spills everything he's gathered in the past few months, from the smallest hints to the biggest; the unfamiliar strand of hair on Ghost's hoodie to the wallet from months ago.

"A'm no crazy!" Soap convinces no one as he's ushered back to the barracks for making such an insane assumption about the lieutenant in his unreliable state. Ghost's lips curl up into a smirk against the cold glass of Bourbon in his hand, sat back and relaxed with his legs spread wide.

Call him a big baby (he is) for making a fool out of his sergeant instead of just telling the truth and bragging about his angel to the others, but can you blame him? He just wants to keep you tucked away in his pocket, away from everyone else. What are you talking about, lovie? 'Course 'm not ashamed of you. You're just too pretty for them, is all. Gotta keep m' girl safe, yeah?

Besides, they don't have to know the way Simon melts into the nook of your neck when he gets home from deployment or know that he uses your lavender-scented shampoo. And no, it doesn't matter that Johnny knows. It's his word against the lieutenant's. He spares his LT and turns a blind eye this once.

When the time is right, Simon is sure to properly introduce his heart to his unspoken family. For the time being, he just wants to keep you his pretty little secret.

so, alot of demon anatomy revolves around their demonic heart and its blood (which is concentrated energy/magic- the color of which is determined by their elemental type, Shargon is type lightning, which is generally a mid blue going into greenish, but there are always slight color variations even between the same types) their bones too are made of crystalized demonic blood, its coated in a black layer of depleted blood (so the substance without energy) that acts as a sort of armor and makes the bones more durable and able to withstand even alot of bending (when a demon shape shifts their bones have to decrystalize to some extent to shift into different forms and sizes, its really uncomfortable or even painful depending on how well trained they are or in stressful situations since that process is something that needs to be done right or they end up really messy and vunerable) bones are also hollow and filled with demonic blood, it also aids their flexibility and the shapeshifting process and makes sure that if one is broken its quickly healed again since the bone doesnt have to decrystalize first

teeth and claws are not hollow and lack the black layer bc it eases using magic/energy through them and makes them harder to break, unlike the bones they are as hard as possible instead of flexible; the liquid blood isnt necessary since a broken tooth or claw usually gets discarded entirely and regrown from the ground up

horns are a mix of both, they dont have a black layer but are hollow (at least partly through) and filled with an even more concentrated version of demonic blood, very similar to heartblood (only found in the heart, the most concentrated version with a similar consistency; like a thick floaty liquid) and connected to it (you could see or feel a pulse in Shargons horns) but it lacks the genetic information actual heartblood carries- horns act mainly as a sensing aid ... like antenna in a way, or how whales melons work, it aids in sensing energy nearby, navigation, limited long range communication or if an energy wave that was sent out has hit something like a living demon .. or a dead one if theres still some remaining energy left (works best between demons of the same elemental type, but isnt limited to them and also depends on how skilled or mighty a demon is- for example, Eadrya, type water but extraordinarily powerful, could sent out even a really weak energy wave and they would be able to sense if it hits Shargon while Shargon himself might just feel there was some energy, but not from who or what type) and can pick up frequencies of distress calls that have lost the hearable part

the downside to that is if a horn was to break it might actually be the most painful thing to happen to a demon, even worse so if it draws blood, its like stabbing the most sensitive nerve that goes through their head and spine and heart, depending on the severity of the injury it might be paralyzing or drive a demon temporarily mad- worse than a stabwound into the heart itself

not all demons have horns, they are a very diverse kind of creatures that are each built better for different things (Eadrya doesnt have horns, the extreme amount of energy at their disposal pretty much closes any gap horns could have made in aiding senses- an advantage being less vunerability, a downside though is easy disturbance of anything relating to those senses by other energy types or frequencies .... and a general downside to Eadryas .. overproduction of magic even, is being basically the most detectable demon in the world due to them constantly emitting energy at very high levels if they are in good health)

(since Shargon (he/they) is the main example here, hes a demon that is built for speed and flexibility, for quick strikes out of the shadows, his bones are thin and bendable, his teeth are long, sharp and angled in various ways so if he bites he can lock it down hard without escape, even if the force of his bite isnt the strongest in itself- he can turn his head fully around multiple times (like an owl but worse) and his throat is largely made of pure muscle (the most muscle on him is his throat and to the big primary arms) perfect to bite and pull and twist until whatever he bit into gives out, getting him off of something is rather impossible without doing massive damage to it in the process (unless he lets go willingly of course)

-since i compared him to Eadrya (they/them) already- they are quick but only in water, their sheer size, thick skin, bones and well, body is really hard to damage, their teeth are small and all in the same shape in two rows on both sides, their maw is really wide and their bite force is pretty strong- if they bite it is with the intent to bite clean through, if that doesnt work they would need to let go and go for it again here older art but just to give you a general idea for Eadrya (demon form):

Thor (any pronouns) is another one that is really different- they are massive and armored with thick, hard plates, they are slow and have little mobility but are nigh impossible to take down unless you know exactly how; they dont have alot of teeth, rather small and probably not very sharp either and due to her two big tusks going forward its rather hard to actually get to anything to bite into, if she were though it would be somewhat akin to alligators (i think) that just smash their massive bones together to break whatever is in between with little to no actual 'biting' going on

the only somewhat accurate part is the general shape and head, though the mouth isnt accurate anymore either ... barely anything is but something is better than nothing and the roughly lobster inspired design idea is still currently the idea)

Sanji knew what he wanted to see in his future. He wanted a beautiful wife with a cat or a bird as a pet, living in their restaurant in the all blue. He would be the most respected chef, with the most elegant lady and they would have no children because as much as he didn't want to voice it - like the thought could make it into reality, he didn't want any kids. Too afraid they'd turn out like his siblings, or even worse - as useless as himself.

So of course, when a devil fruit user sends him flying twenty years into the future, he doesn't believe it when his crew says that none of it was true. The future must be wrong, right? But what truly makes him lose it was that not only did he have three kids but he was apparently married to the most brutish and grumpy man alive. And if being married to Zoro had upset him that much, everyone was dreading the moment when past!Sanji would find out he lost an arm protecting the future he so strongly didn't want.

Sorry for taking so long to respond, I’m really glad I inspired you! these are a few things I use in nearly every robot design/drawing

I think it’s super important to know how your robot moves and these common joints are a great way to start!

And remember these are just suggestions go wild with your robot designs! They can be anything and do anything you can think of :D

Somehow they took longer than PK's reference did. Here's to hoping I don't change their design again so I don't have make a 4th reference sheet for them 🥂

I forgot to add the fact that they start growing leaves and flowers in their fur after they recover and aren't stressed 24/7 onto the ref, AH WELL- I might just make a version for when they are older and not a complete wreck

Some notes;

They now have pernament wings that are usually tucked under an elytra, identical to Pale King's (monarch) wings but black and white instead. My friends also voted the pubic fur out ✌️😔 probably for the better, I couldn't come up with a way to NOT make it look awkward as hell.

Their adolescent stage is around 13-14 years of age and around Pale King's height, outgrowing him ever so slightly.

The hatchling stage is EXTRA potato shaped and EXTRA fluffy now, instead of the fur being mostly on the back of their neck and lower back they have a full mane that runs down their back, much like their dad. The hatchling and child stages also have much dimmer light, it gets brighter with age.

But most important addition; they have ✨️HEELS✨️

Not sure if the white bits behind the ridges on their feet and forearms wi stay but they are here for now, I'll see how I feel about them as I draw them

They mostly take after their father in all but height but they do have some traits from their mother, which will be more obvious once I will make a proper reference for her
